Assessment
The first step will be to conduct a detailed assessment to identify your child communication strengths and areas for development. The assessment will help me to tailor my intervention to meet the needs of each individual child and family and might include:

Discussion about your child’s strengths and areas of concern

Discussion with other agencies (school staff or NHS Speech and Language Therapist)

A face to face initial assessment in the child's home, nursery or school

Verbal feedback following the assessment

A comprehensive or summary report

Therapy
Following the assessment, I will discuss my recommendations with you. Therapy will be individualised to your child. and may focus on a variety of areas including the intelligibility of speech, understanding tor expressive language skills, social communication and alternative and augmentative communication needs. Sessions may take place at home, nursery or school.

Review
Regular review session are conducted to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments ot the therapy plan. This ensure that therapy continues to meet the needs of the child as they grow and develop.

Training
Supporting parents, carers and educators through the therapy process is an important part of effectiveness of therapy. I can offer training for parents and school staff to help them to use strategies to support their children effectively.
